This visa allows the applicant to study for periods longer than the 3-month limit of the tourist visa and includes permission to work for a maximum of 40 hours per week, automatically granted with the visa. #5
The holder may apply for visas for family members as dependents, such as children, parents, spouses, or permanent partners. These family members must apply simultaneously with the applicant, though they are not required to travel at the same time. Consider the following:
- The visa's validity period must be the same as the holder’s.
- The spouse or permanent partner can study for no more than 3 months; if they wish to study longer, they must apply for a student visa.
- School-aged children must be enrolled in an Australian school before the visa is granted.
This visa can be valid for up to 5 years, with the duration depending on the type of study the applicant intends to pursue. Generally, if the course duration is less than 10 months, the visa will be valid for the course length plus one additional month (11 months total). If the course exceeds 10 months, the visa will be valid for the course duration plus two additional months.
For Master’s or Diploma degrees that end in November or December, the visa will be valid until March 15 of the following year.
Requirements:
-
The applicant must be proficient in English.
-
The applicant must have sufficient financial resources to cover their studies and stay in Australia.
-
The applicant must have previously completed studies.

Documentation:
-
A valid passport with at least 6 months of validity.
-
An international certificate of vaccination for yellow fever.
-
Proof of financial solvency, such as bank statements from the last 3 months. If the applicant declares income, they must provide authenticated copies of the last two tax returns. The amount required depends on the length of the program and the tuition fees. To calculate this, divide the annual cost of the course by 365, then multiply the result by the number of days the applicant will stay in Australia.

International student health insurance. #7

Biometric examinations.
-
Complete the Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) letter.

- Reasons for choosing to study in Australia instead of their home country.
- Benefits the studies will bring.
- The applicant's ties to their home country, with an emphasis on their intent to return.
